길고양이 수난 시대 <노원구 길고양이 집단 꼬리 절단사건>

안성전기톱살해사건, 인천 길고양이 집단 살해사건에 이어 또 하나의 충격적인 사건이 노원구에서 발생하고 있으며 이 사건은 아직까지 현재진행형입니다.
Another shocking animal cruelty has occurred and this case is still on-going.

이 지역은 수년 전 아파트 관리인이 12층에서 문 열린 틈으로 나온 주인 있는 고양이를 떨어뜨려 죽인 잔인한 사건이 벌어진 곳으로 이후에도 지속적으로 길고양이들이 괴롭힘을 받아온 곳이었습니다. 그런데 최근 2월부터 학대 수위가 더욱 심각해진 이른 바 < 꼬리 절단 사건> 이 잇따르고 있어 주민들을 불안케 하고 있습니다.

There had been a continuous harassment on stray cat in this area after someone caught a cat (with owner) while the cat was lost in hallway, beat up and dropped from 12th floor. But recently the abuse is going more cruel starting last February, so called ‘tail cuts’ making the neighborhood shiver.
제보자에 의하면 2월18일에 꼬리가 완전히 절단된 길고양이가 발견되어 구조해보니 심각할 정도로 괴사가 진행된 상태라 응급수술을 받았다고 합니다.
그로부터 며칠 후 또 다시 8개월령의 고양이 꼬리가 삼분의 이 정도 뼈만 남고 벗겨져 있는 채로 발견되었는데 이 고양이는 꼬리 윗부분에 철사로 감긴 자국이 있었습니다.
According to the informant, a stray cat with it’s tail completely cut showed up on 18th February, and upon rescuing necrosis was too progressed so he had to have a surgery right away.
After a couple days, a kitten around 8 month old was spotted, the tail was cut in third, only bones were showing. This cat had steel wire marks on the top of tail.
그 이후에는 잘려져 있는 고양이의 긴 꼬리만이 발견이 되었는데 수의사에게 확인해보니 이미 구조된 두 고양이의 것이 아니라 다른 새로운 고양이의 꼬리였습니다. 이 고양이의 행방은 아직까지 찾을 수 없습니다.
After that, the informant could find a cut out tail of some cat, and brought to the vet but this tail was not from the former rescued cats, a new ones. This cat is still unfound.
이 후 이 지역에서 터를 잡고 살던 길고양이 두 마리가 갑자기 사라졌는데 이 중 한 고양이가 수일 후 나타났지만 역시 꼬리가 또 반이 잘려져 나간 상태였습니다.
고양이들이 우연히 꼬리만 절단되는 사고를 당할 이유는 없습니다. 건강했던 고양이들이 사라지거나 꼬리만 갑자기 절단되는 것으로 보아 이 사건은 사람이 의도적으로 학대를 가하는 것이 분명합니다.
After that from another 2 stray cats living in this area disappeared and one showed up again but the tail was cut to half again.
There is no reason for the cats’ tail to be cut accidentally. Healthy cats disappearing for several days and show up again with their tail cut is obviously a human’s intentional abuse.
동물사랑실천협회는 이 사건을 해당경찰서에 고발하고 학대범에 대해 현상금을 걸며 제보자 찾기에 총력을 기울일 것입니다.
여러분, 수년 전 송파에서 일어났던 고양이 대못 사건을 기억하실 겁니다. 당시 그 사건은 경찰이 탐문수사를 계속하였지만 범인을 찾을 수 없었습니다. 그러나 사건이 크게 이슈화되며 범인이 겁을 먹은 듯 더 이상 같은 사건이 발생하지 않았었습니다.
CARE will report this case to the police and offer a reward for the abuser, informants and do our best.
A couple of years ago, there was a ‘spiking cat’ abuser from Song-pa-gu. At that time we kept investigating but could not find the criminal. But because of this becoming a big issue, the abuser seemed to chicken out and never committed same abuse again.
